Trust shows you what an AI says about your question, grades how reliable that answer looks, and offers to connect you with a person who knows the answer. This page says what we collect while doing that, and what we will not do with it.
Trust never receives or stores your card number. Card details are entered into a field hosted by Stripe and go directly to Stripe. They do not pass through our servers at any point.
When you reserve an answer, Stripe checks that the card is real and saves it so it can be charged later. No money is taken and no amount is held. We charge only when an answer is actually delivered to you, and if we cannot answer you are never charged.
People describing a broken machine sometimes include things we never asked for: an address, a phone number, a name.
We remove these before your question is stored. Email addresses, phone numbers, street addresses and card-shaped numbers are stripped automatically before the question is written to our database.
This is pattern matching, and pattern matching is not perfect. It will not catch every form of personal information. Please do not include details you would not want recorded. We are asking about your equipment, not about you.
We do not use your questions, or an expert's answers, to train AI models. We do not sell that content to anyone who does.
The boundary, stated precisely, because a vague version of this promise is worth nothing:
If you tell us whether an answer actually worked, we record that against the graded answer. That is what lets us measure and publish how accurate we really are. It is always optional and declining changes nothing about your service.
We use one piece of browser storage, the visitor identifier described above. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not use analytics that follow you to other websites.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to delete it, or ask us to correct it. Write to the address below and we will act on it.
One honest limitation: if a question has already contributed to an accuracy figure we published, we can delete the underlying record, but we cannot retroactively unpublish a statistic. We can and will correct a published figure if it turns out to be wrong.
Trust is not intended for anyone under 18.
If we change this page we will change the date at the top. If a change is significant, and particularly if it affects the commitments above about selling data or training on your content, we will say so plainly rather than quietly editing the text.
