Plain language, because terms that nobody reads protect nobody.

What Trust does

You ask a question. We show you what an AI says, and we grade how reliable that answer looks using a published method you can read at how we grade answers. If the answer looks unreliable, or if you simply want a second opinion, you can pay to have a person answer it instead.

What Trust is not

We are not the AI. The answer we show you comes from a general-purpose AI model. We did not write it and we do not stand behind it. Grading it is the whole point.
A grade is not a guarantee. "This answer is most likely correct" is our instrument's assessment of how reliable an answer looks. It is not a promise that the answer is right, and our own testing has found cases where a confident-looking answer was wrong.
We are not a licensed trade. Nothing here is a substitute for a qualified technician, an inspection, or a permit where one is required.

Safety

Do not rely on Trust, or on any AI answer, for work involving gas, mains electricity, structural elements, or anything that could injure you. Get a qualified person. If you smell gas, leave and call your gas utility or emergency services. This applies no matter what grade an answer received, and it applies to expert answers as well.

Expert answers, and how paying works

You name what the answer is worth to you. There is no auction and no urgency pressure.
When you reserve, your card is validated and saved by Stripe. No money is taken and none is held.
We charge you only when an answer is actually delivered to you.
If we cannot answer, you pay nothing. We will not charge you and refund you later on a pretext.
Your card details go directly to Stripe. They never pass through our servers.
An expert answers using their judgment and what you have told them. They cannot see your machine. If what you told us was incomplete, the answer may be too.

What we ask of you

Describe your problem honestly. The answer depends on it.
Do not send us other people's personal information.
Do not use Trust to get around a legal requirement for a licensed professional.
Do not scrape, resell or republish our grades or expert answers as your own.

Your content

Your question stays yours. We store it, with personal details removed, so that we can grade it, answer it, and measure whether our grading is any good. We do not train AI models on it and we do not sell it. The detail is in the privacy page.

Accuracy of our own claims

We publish figures about how accurate our grading is. When we get one wrong, we will correct it in public rather than quietly changing it. If you think a published figure is wrong, tell us and we will check it.

Changes

If we change these terms we will change the date at the top and say what changed.
